All forms are made up of different customizable components—each with its own set of helpful features. Below is an overview of each component.
Text Input
Text inputs are one of the most versatile components. Use this for any single-line text entry.
Text inputs can be customized to include a handful of preset validations (like Letters only, Numbers only, Letters and numbers only, Email address) or a custom Regex expression.

Multiple Choice
Use the multiple choice component to offer a pre-defined set of options to choose from. Choose from formatting options to display as buttons, a dropdown, or a list, and allow one or multiple answers.
Signature
Used for signature collection, participants can sign with a single tap, or by typing or drawing their signature.
Multi-line Text Input
The Multi-line input component can be used for questions that need a slightly longer response such as “Why do you want to work here?” or “Why did you leave your last job?”
The multi-line text input component:
- Automatically calculates a maximum number of characters based on the area of the linked output field and the font size. (You can also optionally set a lower character limit.)
- Has an output field preview that displays lines to indicate how many lines of text it will likely generate.
- Can support a font size from 9 to 99 on the PDF
- Starts off with a minimum of 50 characters
- The maximum character limit is 500 or depending on depicted component size on the pdf.

Street Address
Date
The date component provides a simple way to collect valid dates on your form.
Phone Number
This component is formatted to collect 10-digit (US) phone numbers.
Email Address
Email address is built using the Text Input component but with preselected validation for email addresses.
Social Security Number
This component is just for collecting US Social Security numbers with validation set to ensure 9 digits.
File Attachment
The file attachment component enables users to upload a specified file when completing the form. Acceptable file formats: doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, jpg, jpeg, png, xlsx, txt and gif • 20MB max
*This component is only available for use in paid plans.
Conditional Rule
Selectively display other components based on user inputs. This allows you to add follow-up questions only if they are relevant based on the participants’ answers.

Display Text
Display text is different from other components because it is only used to display text in a form rather than to collect information. Display text supports a full rich-text editor with basic formatting, styling, and links.
Noteworthy
- Display text can contain ‘merge fields’—placeholders for dynamic text which can be customized every time a form is sent out—either by the sender or a specified participant.
- Display text will be displayed to all participants of the form it’s in. It cannot be selectively shown to one participant of a form and not another. This makes it ideal for legal agreements where multiple parties need to agree to the same terms.
Calculation
Calculation allows you to combine two values to produce a result in your form with one of four basic mathematic operators (+, -, ×, ÷).
Each calculation value can come from either a number entered into a previous text input field within the same form (restricted to integers) or a static value (up to 3 decimal places). Calculated results are rounded to 2 decimal places.
*This component is only available for use in paid plans.
